InnoCyPES fellow receives best student Paper Award at the 9th IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things
Huge congratulations to InnoCyPES fellow Agrippina Mwangi (ESR1) on receiving the “Best Student Paper Award” during the 9th IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things Gala Awards Ceremony.
Agrippina submitted a paper titled “Building resilience for SDN-enabled IoT networks for offshore renewable energy supply” themed “A marriage between sea and space” to the 9th IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things’, held in Aveiro, Portugal. The conference brought together experts, academics, and professionals hailing from 50+ nationalities with the ultimate goal of discussing IoT advancement in both maritime and space domains.
During the conference, Agrippina addressed the primary challenges associated with IoT Networks in offshore wind farms taking into account the intricacies at sea. The novelty of her work lay in the utilization of an AI-based approach that not only preemptively identifies network malfunctions but also swiftly reallocates network resources to guarantee improved quality of service.
